Dr. Rice is an associate professor in Instructional Leadership and coordinator for Instructional Technology. This program provides doctoral, masters, and undergraduate level courses in educational technology. Dr. Rice’s research focuses on technology integration at the K-12 level including how much integration has already taken place, how faculty are involved in integration, what factors influence the use of technology, how technology is being used, and the effectiveness of integrating technology.

Her research interests are distance learning, instructional design for technology integration, and educational change. Dr. Benson teaches courses in the design and development of technology-enabled learning environments. She has designed and taught courses using a variety of online technologies, including a bulletin board based online writing course that she taught for three years. In addition, Dr. Benson has given numerous conference presentations and published several academic articles related to distance and online learning. Her professional experience includes thirteen years as a systems engineer in the telecommunications industry. She holds undergraduate degrees in Math and Industrial Engineering, master's degrees in Operations Research and Human Resource Development, and a doctorate in Instructional Technology.

Dr. Wright is currently an Assistant Professor in the College of Education at Alabama. In that role, she works with teacher educators on innovative ways to infuse technology in the curriculum to enhance teaching and learning. She has helped initiate and develop projects such as electronic portfolios for the preservice teacher, Master Technology Teacher, and Technology on Wheels. Vivian serves as faculty advisor for students enrolled in the teaching field Masters emphasis of Computers and Applied Technology in Secondary Curriculum, Teaching, and Learning. She also teaches doctoral courses in Instructional Technology. Dr. Wright's research interests include asynchronous education, specifically Internet and E-Learning, and K-12 technology integration.
